So the commuting begins...

Well this morning was the second day in a back to back commuting experience. Looks like the weather is getting warmer and that means...more commuting! I really like commuting to work. The round trip is about 30-40 miles depending on the routes. Which means I am getting serious ride time in without too much more time out of my day. Seems like a useful way to spend the commute time.

I can tell my body is not used to this back to back commutes though. Well lets say it is not used to doing it on my commuter bike, Niki, the Nishiki. Yes those are the clothes I wore on my commute in the photo. This bike is heavier then my others. So I think it takes a little more out of me when riding. This should make me stronger right? Despite the extra work...it is still fun!

It is a little daunting riding to work. One needs to plan ahead to remember to have clothes and food (or money for cafe) at work. Then there is the cleaning up once you are there. This though is pretty easy with the shower here at work. The biggest thing on my mind though is not being able to respond to a priority situation. With the car it is easy to jump in a get someplace relatively fast, but the bike takes longer. This is not so big of an issue now, but when I have kids that will be a factor.

Well back to working I go, and of course leave early to ride home. Life is good!
